Internal Knowledge Base for Marketing Team
Case Study: Internal Knowledge Base for Marketing Team
Client:
Go Forward Media
The Challenge
When I joined the marketing team at Go Forward Media, onboarding new hires felt like digital whiplash.
Documentation was scattered across Google Drive folders, Slack DMs, and people’s memories. Important workflows lived in the heads of senior staff, which meant every time someone joined or transitioned roles, we lost momentum.
Team members were asking the same questions over and over, and productivity was suffering.
The Solution
I built a centralised Notion knowledge base to solve this chaos once and for all.
🛠️ What I Did:
-
Structured and built a full SOP Wiki in Notion
-
Categorised content by department (Ads, SEO, Sales, etc.)
-
Recorded step-by-step video walkthroughs using Loom
-
Integrated links to templates, shared docs, and SOP tools
-
Connected it all to onboarding flows so new team members had instant access
Results
-
3x faster onboarding for new hires
-
50% drop in Slack pings about basic processes
-
Senior staff spent less time repeating instructions
-
Team reported improved clarity and task ownership
Tools Used
-
Documentation Hub: Notion
-
Video Walkthroughs: Loom
-
AI Content Drafting: ChatGPT
-
Storage & Sharing: Google Drive
Final Thoughts
Process is power — and this project proved it.
The SOP Wiki didn’t just reduce chaos — it unlocked collaboration and helped the marketing team scale faster, with less stress.
